Katrina began dancing at the age of 5 in her home town of Tamworth, NSW with the Jeanette Lulham School of Dance, doing Jazz Ballet and later, Modern/ Contemporary classes.  From the age of 9, Katrina began competing at the South Pacific Dance Championships in troupes, solos, duos and trios.  At the age of 13, she began learning Tap and RAD Ballet.

During her time dancing in Tamworth, Katrina competed in several South Pacific Dance Championships with successful troupes and made finals of solo, duo and trio competitions.  She also competed in local eisteddfods, winning solo competitions and in 1997, was the Senior Jazz Champion of the Tamworth Eisteddfod.  She also successfully completed several levels of the FATD Modern Dance exams and became an assistant teacher in her early teens.

Whilst dancing in her spare time, Katrina also danced at school, in the North West Regional Dance Festival and in Rock Eisteddfods. She not only danced, but helped to choreograph Dance Festival and Rock Eisteddfod routines for fellow students.

In 1998, Katrina moved to Sydney and went to Macquarie University, studying media and communications.  She found her old dance teacher, Jeanette, teaching at the Joan Carmody school of dance in Ashfield, and began classes there.  Joan introduced Katrina to Miss Gapps and the Harlow School of Dance, when she was looking to do her Teachers Certificate.  Katrina successfully completed her Elementary Teachers Certificate and was asked by Miss Sue and Miss Gapps to teach at Harlow.  Miss Katrina began with Harlow in 2001, teaching Gold Stage Class, Adult Jazz and Ballet.

In 2005, Miss Katrina completed her FATD Elementary Tap and Intermediate Jazz Teachers Certificates, and also studied her Fitness Instructors Certificate and Group Exercise Certificate, going on to study with Allan Menezes in the Aussie Pilates technique, gaining qualifications in mat and swiss ball pilates.

In 2006, Miss Katrina moved to London to work and studied dance at Dance Works. She also completed a contemporary performance project with The Place and London Contemporary School of Dance.
Katrina returned to Sydney in late 2010 and having greatly missed teaching whilst living overseas, asked Miss Sue to return to Harlow School of Dance in 2011.  She works in Corporate Relations by day, and teaches at Harlow and attends classes at Sydney Dance Company in her spare time.

Dancing has taught Katrina discipline, which she takes into several areas of her life, and just loves all different styles of dance.  She hopes to teach kids how fun dancing is, plus all-important technique, and impart a love of movement that will last them throughout their lives.
