Sue began dancing at the age of 3 with her Mum - Miss Gapps and has been doing so for 46 years!
As part of her training, Sue studied the spectrum of styles, completed exams accordingly with much success and performing in the annual Harlow School of Dance Concerts. Competitions became a regular occurrence for Sue at the age of 7. Part of Sue's all round training included Musicianship, Theory and Perception, Speech and Drama, along with studying Singing and Classical Guitar. With this enhanced performing arts training, from the age of 9, Sue began performing with Amateur Musical Societies.
Sue's professional performance experiences began as a teenager and included: Mr. NSW Quest at the Opera House with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Theatre Restaurant Shows and the Sydney Club Circuit, a double act with the late great Buster Noble, Busybodies Contemporary Dance Company and The Sue Harlow Dancers, established by herself.
Sue has also trained in Los Angeles, New York and London and likewise, her teaching experiences branch to taking classes in both London and Cork.
Sue began teaching at age 15 and opened her own school in 1979, combining with Miss Gapps' school in the mid 1990's. The term 'Stageclass' was invented by Sue and continues to be used today!
Many of Sue's former students have pursued professional dance careers, both in Australia and overseas.
Sue's philosophy is "To live is to dance." She loves all the styles of dance and feels they complement each other. Sue finds it very fulfilling to witness the growth, development and blossoming of a dance student over the years. She encourages them to strive for their best and face the world with confidence.
In 2007, Harlow School of Dance was awarded Winner of Hurstville City Council - Excellence in Business. Sue aims to create a community venue for the whole family at Jump St.
Sue also holds Diplomas in Reflexology, Counselling, Energetic Healing, and runs the Heal `n Soulitude clinic at Jump St.
